Recently Ashley and I went on an extensive road trip. Before leaving I wanted to fill up my iPod with some Tim Minchin, the Australian musical comedian. For one reason or another, Tim Minchin music doesn’t seem to exist in the US.

In my desperation to get my fix I found this really cool website that allows you to pull music directly from YouTube. The website is You simply copy a YouTube video’s URL into this site and it rips the audio from any video and then makes it available to download. The site is free and efficient.

My First Yoga Experience

January 14, 2009

I tried Yoga for the first time yesterday at Sol Yoga in downtown Frederick MD. The level of “Woo” was less then I had expected. I went with my wife and our friend Kelsey to the super-easy class. I don’t like exercising around beautiful people, they intimidate me. So lucky for me, the class was primarily comprised of middle-aged, and old women. The teacher likes to tell the class that “If it’s hurting then you’re doing something wrong, it should not hurt.” I’m willing to bet that the feeling of resistance (sometimes called pain) is an indication that you are effectively working out.  But anyway, occasionally she spoke in Sanskrit because ancient languages are relaxing. All in all, I did have a good time and I would definitely do it again.

Afterwords, Ashley and I enjoyed someLedo’s and went home to get some family oriented entertainment; the return of American Idol! (Ashely wants me to be more discrete with out guilty pleasure, oops.)

Mac the Oval Office

November 18, 2008

Last night I fell asleep watching a dry On-Demand documentary about military contractors. The whole movie was just talking heads pointing fingers at the evil contractors, it was too one sided to get a fair account. Anyway around 8PM my wife Ashley attempted waking me and I was a little grumpy. What can I say, I was tired, I was celebrating some me-time, I was a man on his couch. She was being needy and rude. True, I was about 7% in the right, but that percentage doesn’t take you too far. I didn’t go to bed last night on very good terms. However, god bless the wife, despite my behavior she still kissed me goodnight. She always takes good care of me.

In other news, Obama is going to be the first U.S. President with a laptop in the Oval Office. It never occurred to me that the Oval Office desk was always missing a computer. He has to give up his Blackberry but rumor has it that Obama is going to Mac the Oval Office!
